He seems like a fine player but not what we need imo. We have plenty of middle 6 guys. I see him like a sheary who can play up and down the lineup but isn’t a bonafide top 6 guy.

Not a big fan personally. I highly doubt it would be anything more than a 1 year deal, his consistency of effort makes me worry, he’s gonna ask for quite a bit, and his point totals are honestly unappealing when considering other options. He’s the more drama-burdened, short term version of Schmaltz imo.

Barbashev, definitely. Hall is old, overpaid, and not worth it, imo. I would much rather Brown over Hall (cheaper, fits the team better, younger).

I have seen some recent reports (ESPN, The Athletic) that the feeling around the Caps is that they will keep Kuzy and most likely Mantha.

But I just keep thinking / hoping - no shot they run it back, right...?

A top-6 forward (even a top 9) is necessary in my opinion...

I’m fine with keeping Kuzy. Not Mantha tho.

I also am fine with keeping Kuzy - I think with the new coach, he can regain his play. Plus, we would be selling low on him, much lower than he should get.

Mantha does need a change. Use that cash to resign Brown to a team-friendly deal and acquire another top-9 forward.

You can’t replace that 2c role imo. There isn’t much on the market and Kuzy can be a game changer.
