Well Caps have no need for Addison or Zucc so sending arguably their best defensive prospect for those 2 make no sense.

The fan in me would take that MIN-BUF swap without hesitation but the realist in me knows the Sabres probably wouldn't add a bottom 6 forward when they already have to shed Olofsson to free up room for either Savoie or Kulich next season, not to mention that they seem to think the Greenway addition fulfills their need for more size and physicality.

I made this trade because some other Caps fan mentioned thst Addison made sense there…
BTW - Addison is also a very good RHD prospect…just a completely different kind of d-man than Chesley.

Seems premature (especially because of their lack of size) to assume Kulich or Savoie will be NHL regulars next season…

Maybe but in Savoie's case, he can't play in the AHL next season and by everyone's account has outgrown the WHL where returning him there would stunt his development. The only path forward is putting him on the Sabres roster at the start and then, based on how he performs in camp and his first few games, deciding if they take the approach Seattle did with Shane Wright this past season. Kevyn Adams talks about Savoie like he's mentally and skill-wise ready for the NHL - the only question is how he handles the physical play for his size but even that aspect was downplayed by Adams in a recent interview, saying "everyone gets knocked down in the NHL".

Interesting for sure. Would be surprised to see Boldy not playing with Johansson BUT, to split them up in order to have Rossi get his shot between Nyquist and JoJo is intriguing for sure.

The only reason I doubt BG would pursue the moves to re-sign Dumba is that Wild have a D roster full of solid defensive players but don’t get much offense from them. That Dumba has become more and more that archetype as he’s aged is what makes him a roadblock on the roster for other younger players eventually who may be able to provide that necessary offense (particularly as Faber now comes in in that same mold).

The trades, to this biased Wild fan, seem to not bring back requisite value, but I get what’s going on here.

O I 100% agree. I like Addison a lot, but right now Caps have Carlson, Jensen, and TvR locked up for at least 3 more years so there's not much room for Addison. Then they also have Iorio ready to make the NHL.
