Why trade Ruhwedel and then have all 3 scratches be forward prospects? And Hallander signed that 5 year contract over in Europe. Also, if you can't trade Granlund, just buy him out and use the extra cap to trade/sign a 3C.

Canucks accept even though they're selling low.

Ok if you’re gonna be that petty then I’m not gonna stop you but in that case then you put Friedman in the press box over Hallander if you’re gonna be that tight up about this roster.

I’ve said this a thousand times to other pens fans but the Penguins did not spend a 2nd round pick on Granlund to let him play 20 games and then call it done and buy him out. They’ll give him a full season and training camp with the team and go from there.

I doubt they would accept if they have to retain

Alright bro, i wasn’t being petty. just an observation. and THE PENGUINS did not acquire granlund. Moron hextall did. The new gm (assuming they have at least 1 brain cell) is going to trade or buy out granlund. no use keeping him around to take up 5 million dollars to score 1 goal every 20 games. he is washed. cut your losses and get rid of him by any means.

i really like the top 6 you constructed. but keeping granlund IF they do will be a huge mistake.

Trust me if I was GM I wouldn’t have Granlund on the team for this coming season (via buyout, NOT paying assets to get rid of him) but I just can’t see them letting the leash go that fast after they just payed that second rounder for him. Maybe I’m wrong and I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see it happening regardless of the new GM.

Honestly I'm starting to think our best move would be putting him in the top 6. Put him on the first line and see what happens. Worst case he's still bad and tanks the line, then we can move him down and buy him out later on. Best case it brings his value up for a trade. His trade value is negative already so can't get any worse and the buyout option won't go away. I don't think Granlund staying or leaving will be the deciding factor in whether we make playoffs or not. We're not going to become contenders signing a bunch of +27 year old free agents anyways so might as well see what we have in him in a different role
