I really don't get the ABB fascination. Guy is an AHL All Star. Nothing more and nothing less. He's not Marty St. Louis. He never will be. 9 points in 32 career NHL games. He'll be turning 26 in a few days.

I don’t see Jeannot get 1.75 Avv per season after he only scored 1 goal in 20 games with Tampa . I’d say he get 1 million per year for 2 years a prove it deal. Right now he made 800 k last year so that’s still a raise

I'm not sure if its fascination more than the fact that he's never really had an opportunity to play in a solidified Top 6 role for Tampa. He's mainly been a Bottom 6 fill-in for his call-ups. I think because he's a cheaper contract who has produced in the AHL consistently leads people to believe he could be on the Yanni Gourde, Carter Verhaeghe trajectory for Tampa if he plays Top 6.
