My gut feeling has me thinking the Flyers will try to extract value out of a Hayes trade by doing a max salary retention. I don't believe it will be a typical cap dump we are used to seeing Chuck Fletcher make. For all the talk of Hayes being overpaid at 7+mm, he's an extremely valuable upside 2C that would be a steal at 3.5ish million. Or I guess that's what I hope the Flyers do, or just hold onto him. Giving away assets for anything but high end talent in the RFA style age group should not be on the table at all for the Flyers.
