Bickell for Scuderi is dumb. Just another overpayed player who they don't need. Shattenkirk deal is good for pens, but St. Louis wouldn't take it. They would probably want Perron, Dumoulin, Bonino, Clendening, and a 1st round pick which Shattenkirk isn't worth.

I wouldn't call it dumb. It's definitely two teams trading colostomy bags; but getting Bickell sets up moving Perron for something of actual value. No real drop off in forward depth between the two.

There's also a chance that being traded would void their NTCs. Then both teams could look to offload these bad contacts.

It's moot now that Chicago is under the cap.

Scuds on the Pens hurts the Pens a lot more than Bickell on the Pens. Scuds is a roadblock for our young D to see ice time, and we also risk losing prospects to waivers keeping Scuds as the 7th D.

And for Shattenkirk, maybe the Pens add more, but nothing to what you suggested. Maybe throw them Bennett as well, but they don't want or even need Dumoulin since he wouldn't be in their line up and they wouldn't be able to waive him.
