That's the trade off. Miller still has a good 3 years before that contract sucks and Vancouver would get a major upgrade, especially if he resigns. This shakes up both cores.

Toronto makes a very weird trade that helps them in 0 ways and Vancouver makes Nils Aman the 2C. This is horrible for both teams

Vancouver gets the best player in the trade and Toronto gets 2 guys that are more suited for playoff hockey with a really good pick. I mean it doesn't make the most sense but if this trade went through each team would do more moves to compliment the new pieces. Can't you just see Marner and being the perfect linemate with boeser?
