No, the Jets aren’t trading Ehlers and Perfetti for two years of Marner

No interest in Marner. He's so far overpaid it isn't even funny. Good in the regular season, but no ty in the playoffs. The Jets do not want any more small forwards, even talented ones. When the going gets tough, Marner gets squished, just like Ehlers and Perfetti. We don't want to trade one overpriced similar to the 2 we have for less money.

I don’t know, he still does well in the playoffs (maybe not goal scoring) but he’s got more playoff points than anyone on the Jets roster.

I didn’t say Ehlers and Perfetti are better than Marner. The idea of trading for Marner simply doesn’t make sense for the Jets, as a matter of fact it doesn’t make sense for the Leafs either. The Jets should be selling their veteran players like Schiefele and Hellebuyck while keeping the younger players like Perfetti and build a new team around them. Why should we trade for a player that would do nothing other than keep the Jets in the mediocre middle as bubble playoff team for two years until he eventually leaves. It’s not a matter of value, it’s a matter of how the player fits a team’s future, and Marner doesn’t fit with the Jets future.
