Can’t see how people think leafs will ever “win” on the face of a trade of any of the big 4. AM will be looking for 13m+, Willy @ 11M+, marner @13m+ all while JT is 11M. Keeping them makes the team considerably worse as well as you will be filling in league min deals for the rest of the roster.

Teams that move on from the best player in the deal almost always lose the trade. But trading one of those top players should never involve significantly downgrading without at least gaining draft capital. Also, why would the Leafs ever make this deal when Nylander is the cheapest of the three.

People on here are two ignorant to realize that GM’s are blinded by their anti-leafs bias and that trading on of the core four isn’t a cap-dump which is essentially what everyone in this platform treats it as.

Only JT is a cap dump. The other 3 should be highly sought after and will get more than the above package. However it won’t be from NYR and a number of other teams that either don’t have the cap space or the assets to get it done. There’s going to be a small 4-8 team market that wants to/can actually do it.

And I completely agree with that. Team matters a lot here for both fitting windows as well as affording the current cap hit. However many posts here create scenarios that are hilariously one sided deals with the expectation that Marner/Nylander/Matthews come with compromised value.

Ya unfortunately that’s the norm on here. People don’t get values right on here all day everyday. High draft picks are busts until they get 1ppg status. Salary is a dump when the team doesn’t have loads of cap space. Basically twitter noise that loves click bait for the most part
