Yikes on that Karlsson trade! You’re moving a lot of D minded D for O minded D and given the growth of Bouchard do you guys really want to go after Karlsson at this point?

You really emptied the Oilers tank on this one. If those moves don't work ... Team is rebuilding without any assets.

Edit: That being said. Habs easily accept this deal.

Josh Anderson is worth a first, a second, and more? Have I been in a Rip Van Winkle coma?

That's a nice trade for Mitch Marner if more of that stuff was going to Toronto and less to my team.

Anderson at 50% retained, for 4-years, is worth Bourgault + 1st.
...so you can keep Foegele, or add to the trade.

I’m confused by this comment. Are you for or against?

It leaves them at the same cap plus assets…

If you’re a cap team and you need that boost yes. A 5.5 Million dollar player at 1/4 of the price for FOUR years is worth those assets

Every good team becomes a bad team at one point. You know how quick you can rebuild a squad by trading one of their big pieces?!?

Yes EK65 would bolster their PP even more.

I don't think the Habs would be willing to retain 50% for 4-years on Anderson to begin with. Personally, I'd be open to it for Bourgault + 1st. But if we need to take on Foegele, EDM needs to add.

So you think that the answer to Edmonton's problems is more offense? At the cost of four valuable futures, from a team which has one of the worst prospect pools in the League?

And you're touting the cap-saving maneuver of acquiring Josh Anderson for no fewer than SIX assets so that you can add Erik Karlsson and have only 20 men on the roster?

In case you haven't noticed, the whole reason why Edmonton has failed since 2017 despite having the two best players in the league is that they are a top-heavy team just like Toronto, and this roster is measurably and indisputably worse than what they have now -- which doesn't bother me, as an Anaheim and Los Angeles fan, but should annoy the Oilers faithful.

But at that cost it doesn’t seem smart to me.

I’m not the biggest Foegele fan but did you not watch him in the playoffs this year. He was a dog out there and it’s for 1 year. Edmonton wouldn’t have to add I’m sorry.

So you think that the answer to Edmonton's problems is more offense? At the cost of four valuable futures, from a team which has one of the worst prospect pools in the League?

The answer is 1 more extremely offensive puck moving defenceman to generate offence to the said best players in the world, and bolstering a bottom 6 with more physicality who can still chip in offensively. In case you didn’t notice they struggled with depth scoring this year.
And you're touting the cap-saving maneuver of acquiring Josh Anderson for no fewer than SIX assets so that you can add Erik Karlsson and have only 20 men on the roster?
