REALLY bad trade for the Oilers, resulting in an unworkable 20-man roster even after Winnipeg retains 50% on the one season of Hellebuyck. Better for Edmonton to bet on Skinner and if that doesn't pan out, try to sign Hellebuyck when he hits free agency.

Even though Drai will be in his walk season at that point? Can they afford to let him go for nothing or would they need to trade him in advance of that season? Kind of a moot point as if Helle hits free agency the chances he picks the Oilers over a U.S. option isn’t very high.

I don’t like this return for the Jets either for Helle and Ehlers so nobody likes it.
