Not a good deal for NJ. Short-sighted and takes away our best shutdown D.

I like it actually.
Marino is a really good D but Liljegren is pretty much equally good as him. Liljegren is also younger and carries a lesse AAV.
So it basically comes down to Holtz + 1st for Marner, given how poorly Holtz is meshing with Ruff's system it might be in the Devils best interest to move him out for an elite player like Marner.

What? Since when? The is a fairly sizable gap between the two. And Marino's contract is a ++. There is no reason to move his cap hit.

There is a matter of fit, and we know Marino works here and his salary hit is less than his value.

As for Holtz and a 1st, I'm down for trading Holtz, but Marner's cap hit would be so massive, it means we also have to trade Bratt or Meier just to make it work.

That sarcasm was so thick it actually oozed out of my monitor and stained my desk.

Jack can tie his own skates, Luke knows how to skate backwards and Dawson can lift the puck.
