I wouldn't do that if I were a Avs fan. Couturier hasn't played in almost 1, 5 years and who knows if he'll ever return.

Ya well both players have pretty similar contracts. Not sure if either will ever play again

Cool, so 1 year, then Matthews demands $15M and he's gone.

Also, Rantanen is a gamer, guy actually performs in the playoffs, this team would dominate the regular season, but fizzle in the playoffs.

Do not like the Leafs trade one bit for the Avs, Rantanen is their best player IMO and Newhook and Byram are worth so much more.

Why on earth would the Flyers trade for him lol? Nobody is trading for him with his off ice issues right now let alone for Coots 1 for 1 who, if finally healthy again, is 100% the better player by far

It’s a risk the Flyers don’t need to take at the start of a rebuild so why would they?

At least the other guy isn't hurt all the time. They only make this trade if they think he will be able to play at this point, I'm not sure. But both team's should be trying to trade both guys.


If he’s hurt they just throw him on LTIR, I would rather do that than have Nich. The Flyers are rebuilding they don’t need to trade one bad contract for annother and if Coots can’t play you stash him on LTIR and can take on other team’s bad contracts for picks. I’d rather have the chance of Coots being healthy than a player he way outperforms anyway that now has off the ice issues

Not true, he was cleared at the end of the year but since the flyers were out, they shut him down. He will play again.

Tearing apart your team, and known performer for a "IF" scenario is terrible risk management.

Again, Matthews disappears in the playoffs, Rantanen doesn't.
