If you are asking what it would take to get those guys I want a top 20 2023 1st, any year 2nd, and a decent prospect for Hart. If not the Flyers can just wait it out and see what teams get desperate at a deadline and try to get a ransom for him then

That 23 Florida pick gets the goalie of the future in the draft or that second rounder probably gets you the best goalie in the draft. Probably 3/4 years out, but not bad timing when some of the bad contracts are done and the young blueline would come if age. Patience

I would think that Wolf and Knight are off the table, and Schmid is pretty close. Hart could probably be had, but it'll be sizeable. Maybe not as sizeable as someone previously mentioned on this thread, but sizeable. I could see a world where they ask for the Panthers' first in '23, the Habs' 2nd in '23 and a decent prospect (Struble? Farrell? Norlinder? for instance). Whether Montreal would just wait this out: I mean, Monty is looking pretty great at the World Championships, right???

This. Just take Hrabal or whoever your scouts think is G1 in 2023. All these guys except for maybe Schmid are going to cost at least that pick if not more. You’re probably looking at 1st, 2nd, + prospect for the other 3. By the time the G1 in this draft is ready, you’ve had enough time and assets accrued to become competitive. Otherwise, you’re just rushing it

And you would be heavily outbid for Carter Hart seeing that Detroit has strong interest in him to. And would easily outbid anything the Habs have to offer for him.

I like bjarnson, but is going to need sometime, Montreal should just draft away and bring another 3 elcs to the mix in 2/3 years, along with the ufa markets next couple as some of the other contracts drop off.
