I don’t see how Beauvillier and Rathbone help us. Beauvillier isn’t getting top-6 time…doesn’t work on defending or forechecking line. I’m afraid he would be another Andreas Johansson. And Rathbone would have to clear waivers to play in Utica.

I think you're correct. The Avs really try to avoid tying themselves to players until their mid 30s. If Miller were a few years younger, it would make sense. But as it is, I don't think there would be interest. And if there were, it would need to be without Newhook going the other way imo.

Fair enough, Beau is actually a very good forechecking/defensive forward. He’s just not a big forward, which I think leads some people to think he’s just purely offensive.

I see him as similar to Andreas Johansson…a comparison I have made going back to their days on Isles and Devils. Islanders fans were giving him away for nothing on here.

Definitely dont do that, only with mckinnon, landeskog, erik johnson, nichushkin and manson?

Fair, but MacKinnon and Landeskog are different. Those guys are the team. And they tried hard not to go 8 years on Landeskog before caving to him. And Johnson is ancient history compared to how they do things now.

To me, the norm for the Avs is letting guys like Kadri or Saad go. Nichushkin and especially Manson are more the outliers. And they may already regret one or both of those contracts.
