Maybe because Grubby has posted above 3 GAA and below .900 sv% with Seattle. They need the upgrade. They have cap space. And have a long term C1 in Beniers.

But that package falls short of landing Wright even if Seattle was willing. Make that 4th the 25 1st and it would be closer.

Ullmark has a 15 team trade list, What makes you think Seattle is on it? Plus that joke of an offer is nowhere near getting Shane Wright out of Seattle.

I believe Ullmark would be fine going to Seattle, yes.

Seattle was a playoff team this year with weak goaltending. They will be competitive for the life of his contract. Passionate fan base in a city that loves sports. I’d honestly be surprised if they were one of the teams on his NTC. I could easily make a list of 16 teams i’d prefer not to go before Seattle.

On the flip side if does not want to leave it would be pretty easy for him to sit and make a list of 16 teams that would be looking for a 1 or have the cap space to take him. Which would make him pretty tough to move.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

But yes the original offer does not come close to getting Wright.
