Hawks say no, and I don’t think it’s particularly close. The pick swap alone is probably close to fair value. Vancouver’s 11th overall to the hawks for the 19th overall and 35th overall.

OEL is $7M/4 years. That’ll take a 1st+ to get off your books. Not to mention Beauvillier at ~$4M next year. I don’t think we’re even close here

It is actually the Tampa pick for 2024 in the proposal, not # 19 this year. Given the amount of hockey Tampa’s core has played the last 5 - 7 years, their cap situation and the fact they very little draft capital left to use for trades to replenish their depth, I can see the Lightning primed for a significant drop in the standings… they could be a lottery team next year if they suffer a significant injury or two. With that said, there is no way I trade that pick if I’m Chicago.

The fact that this proposal has the Hawks eating over $30m in contracts, if I’m Chicago the very most I give up is a 2nd and I would push for it the be one the later two they have in round 2.
