Don’t base everything off points my guy, that’s a casual hockey fan thing to do.

That being said I think Between Pastrnak/ Tkachuk/ Kuch/ Rantanen and Marner you could make a case for any of them to be the top guy depending on the type of player you would prefer on your squad

Saying not to base everything off points is exactly the kind of argument someone would make to try to convince people Tkachuk is the better player. It just so happens that he also has more points

Okay well if you want to use points as a headliner to judge. how many PPG season has tkachuk had compared to the rest? In the last 5 years tkachuk has had 2
Rantanen has had 4
Pastrnak/ kuch and Marner all 5 of their last 5.

Kuch/ pasta both had more points this year

Tkachuk's one of the best 2-way wingers league wide. I think Rantanen and Kuch are better as purely offensive wingers but Tkachuk's all around game may push him above them now. The total points in the last 2 years are more icing on top

I’m not disagreeing with his rankings I’m just saying you can make a case for all 5 of the guys I listed, all depends on the team you have around them, the system you run and the player style you prefer, they are all different and elite in their own ways.

Pasta: speedy winger that can score from anywhere/ underrated passing abilities aswell
Rantanen: big winger that can shoot and is an elite passer
Kuch: smaller winger with elite vision and is hard to predict his movement/ always mis-directing defences
Marner: speedy 2 way winger who I’d say out of the 5 is the best play driver
Tkachuk: physical hard nosed winger who drives the net very well and plays great on both sides of the ice

Only thing I don't like is excluding Stone from the list, if not for his injuring he could absolutely have a chance of cracking that top 5

You can make the argument for all of them (though I think Pasta is on his own level). The reason I have Tkachuk on top over the others is because he would work on any team playing any system and even if he's not producing, he's putting his stamp on the game one way or another. I don't think any of the others could carry a team like he is now in the playoffs

Yes but that's because you have Marner outside the top 5.

I take a healthy Stone over marner any day of the week and 32 GMs would too

I think it's definitely debatable. Marner is certainly a very skilled 2-way winger as well
