Tbh if we were to move a defenseman, it would be Skjei. I think Pesce is gonna be a Cane for life, and positionally, we can better afford to move Skjei. We'd probably sign a stop-gap in someone like Graves and then Nikishin is probably ready for top 4 minutes out of the gate. We don't really have someone like that on the right side. There's Morrow, but he's still young and hasn't yet developed his defensive game. He's probably still a few years out of a major nhl role. We'd be left with a 39 year old Burns, who's still a great player right now but idk how many more years he has left in the tank especially as a top pair guy. Keeping Pesce just makes more sense.
