Reality checks:
1. Sabres aren't going to dump $6M on an aging player in decline with injury issues, regardless of the PR effect Kane would have.
2. Severson will command - and likely get - maximum term and far larger salary than that.
3. There is no way that Samuelsson will get 3rd pairing minutes or diminished role.

This is HORRIBLE for WPG. A Vezina award winning goalie in his "GOALIE" aged prime, turning 30 10 days ago, who has been nominated a few times already for "1 PICK"???

Considering how many Sabres' fans on social media keep campaigning over the past 3-4 years for Buffalo to acquire him, I find that hard to believe.....just look at every fan proposal that always ties a player with local roots as a trade/FA addition the Sabres should make.

There's been a lot of rumors and suggestions that Pegula himself is a fan of Kane's and was interested in him, likely for the PR angle that translates to ticket and merchandise sales.
