I see very few scenarios where Tampa would trade colton, this would make them accept. Colton does have a greater offensive touch than Drury. Drury is a good defensive and more economical bottom 6 option for TBL plus they get the draft pick (which they really need). Tampa can hope to tap into Drury's offensive abilities a little more

Vejmelka is a very high risk/high reward type goalie. CAR can save the futures and sign Andersen or Raanta. Andersen was great in 2021-22 and Raanta was great this yr. Either way it is a good pairing and Pyotr is NHL ready at this point

If the flames don’t feel confident in resigning Toffoli, I could see a trade but they would need to give up a first, Rees and maybe something else as Toffoli is truly that good

I'm sorry folks, Toffoli returned a 1st and a prospect just over a year ago, then proceeded to have a career year. Yeah, there is only a year left now, but even as a rental he'd get a 1st+

Yeah, think I underestimated that one a tad. I initially had that exact trade for Viktor Arvidsson, which I think for him it's more fair. I switched it to Toffoli because I think he fits the Canes better overall, however I didn't think too much about the return when I did that. My mistake.

Switch the 2nd to a 1st for Toffoli and it's not far off imo. Maybe need to add a small sweetener in that scenario. But Toffoli/Arvidsson are the exact type of players in the exact situations that the Canes brass will go after. Experienced players that can shoot well/score goals and play our system, on teams that have cap issues and will need to offload somebody so that they can actually put a full roster on the ice. Because of the cap situations, I don't think Toffoli or Arvidsson would cost quite as much as they otherwise would in a trade. That and they both only have one year left.

The good news is that I also signed Raanta! 😀

Good to hear that the trade for Colton works out well. I think it's a great trade for both sides. Colton can score a bit more like you said and he plays a heavier game as well, both things the Canes need badly. Taking advantage of Tampa's cap situation to get a player like Colton is exactly what the Canes have to do.

See my other comment about Toffoli lol

TB laughs hysterically this offer "Makes them accept" Bhahahahahahaha Bhahahahahahaha Bhahahahahahaha. They don't give a rats a$$ about picks. They gave a1-5 for a 3rd liner and you think a 2 and a 4th liner gets you a potential 30+ goal scorer? Which gives TB the better chance at winning the next 2-3 years Colton or Drury and the puck? If your answer is Colton TB say NO!!! If your answer isn't Colton your wrong and TB says NO!!!?

You're higher than a satellite if you think TB takes that 💩 offer.

Gotta be honest, I don't think Tampa will be getting much more of an offer than this and they can't afford to keep him so too bad for them.

You're higher than a satellite if you think they get substantially more than this
