IMHO, you overpaid on every trade.

I would do all of those in a heartbeat, Schmaltz is a capable low end 1C, would be the best 3C in the league (if that's where we play him), and Vej is by far the best non star goalie available. Ik Garland was rumored to be a cap dump a few weeks ago, but he's absolutely worth a 2nd, he's a legit top 6 F, and I'd take whatever for DeSmith once we get other Gs in just to get his cap out

Dumping DeSmith is an overpay? lol
Getting a top 6 RW/C with Schmaltz's abilities is pricey. He is very underrated. Add in a big 1b goalie with the contract going back and I think it's very good value.

Not sure what you're valuing Vejmelka at in that trade scenario but I'd rather just go after Schmaltz

Schmaltz stills runs you a 1st and high end prospect. Vejmelka has potential and could be a good part of a 1a 1b duo with a proven vet.

If Vejmelka has that much potential wouldn't it cost something to get him then though?

If he's coming for free like in your trade then maybe you take a flier on him. Otherwise I don't think it's worth it. He's not any better than Desmith. But I do like Schmaltz a lot. Pens fans seem to be crazy high on Vejmelka and I can't figure out why.

I'm done with DeSmith. Watching him fail hard at the worlds and his injury history I'm more than ready to move on. Vejmelka is a big guy with talent who I would like to take a chance on.

He had a .918 save% and 1.95 GAA at World's - how is that failing hard?

Like I said - if you can get him for free - maybe you take the chance. Even still I personally would be against it - but at least you can make the argument. I just don't see why Arizona would give him up for free if he has so much potential? He's already 27 - was decent in Czech league and subpar in the NHL. It's not even like he's some young prospect with a lot of potential.

That would be a good save % against NHL talent every other night. That's not good against that type of competition. He also wilted in the two big pressure games giving up OT goals to known snipers Frederik Tiffels and Kristians Rubins lol. He stinks. Time to move on.

This is one of the more delusional takes I've seen on this platform lol - and that's saying something. "He only had a .918 save % in those 7 games therefore he stinks" is not a good argument

He stinks and yet has better numbers than Vejmelka
