Way too much to Ana.
Gibson is worth a 2nd
Jones is worth a 2nd
Both combined aren't worth the 1st

Still no room for another offensive LHD, that goalie is 24 and barely AHL caliber, and I see no reason to give up Max Jones.

Why, he’s 2 years younger and has similar NHL experience and more offensive skill (less defensively tho)

Smith plays both sides, true on lindberg but your not gonna pry Blomqvist from us imo, and why would you not give up on Jones… the way I see it it’s a smith for Jones swap (of equal value) and then the 14th and lindberg for Gibson and 33rd

In short, fitment. We've got 3 offensive D for next season on the roster, Fowler, Drysdale, and LaCombe. I'm not a fan of playing defense on their offhand, some do it well, some do it marginal. I also think Jones started turning the corner developmentally this season and was showing elements of the power forward game that was promised when he was drafted. Sure its taken a long time to develop, but it would be dumb to trade him away as soon as we start seeing him break through. We've waited this long, may as well see it through.

That’s fair, I’ll respectfully disagree on the value of the deal but you make a good point

I don't think Jones is inherently more valuable than Smith, but in terms of fitment, Jones has a place on Anaheims roster, and I don't think Smith does.

As to the overall trade, per the Athletic pick swapping bring out a value of 35 OA. I'd put the trade value for Gibson in the mid to late 20s. I don't think Lindberg ads any tangible value to the trade.

If a deal were to happen, I would figure it involves Granlund or Carter+Rutta, or maybe some other combination of those pieces with 14OA for Gibson, pits 24 3rd (which I think will be needed for a successful OS) and window dressing to suit, maybe Comtois or Vaakainen from us, not sure what else is in Pitts system that would be of intrigue to Anaheim, so I can't comment there.
