TBH Jets should think of that. Necas is a C which we need with no PLD and Scheif. Turbo can fill a wing spot that will be open with no KC. I am quite high on Drury, he is a potential top 6 C. Plus the 1st. Jets should consider.

That's why I think this trade is slightly realistic Turbo can be flipped aat the traded deadline to a ass team Drury would crack the roster in his first season and Necas just had a PPG season+ he is a centre and with PLD wanting to go to MTL it makes sence and if Scheife stays then Necas can play on his wing and a late 1st would be nice for them since they are in a retool or rebuild phase

Necas is primarily a winger isn't he?

I agree with everything except for Scheifele staying. It sounds like there is a 99% chance Scheif is gone... also Scheif probably would move to the wing as they tried that at the end of the season and it went well. I dont know too much about Necas aside from he just changed from wing to centre full time this year and he was solid, so I would put him at C.

Looks like he played a lot of C this year. Cant take draws but seems like he was effective in the middle.

Did Necas play center primarily this year? I thought he was still mostly playing wing, but I didn't follow Carolina much.

I didn't watch much either. They have him listed at C and he took over 400 draws (which makes it seem like he started on the wing and moved to C mid-season).

Ah, okay. If he can play center it might be worth looking into. TT would also need to be swapped for something younger, imo, like Morrow. TT is not waiving for Winnipeg anyways and if he did, he's gone after one year, so he doesn't add much value for the Jets.

Necas did not play center at all. He was just one of two RH FO options so, he took a lot of draws.

Necas has made it very clear to the staff that he wants to play center. Im not sure Rod believes he will be a good one. Rod sent him home with a laundry list of things to work on last season to work his way back to playing center

Okay. That's what I thought. Every time I read about him it's that he is doing well, but still disappointing at playing center.

If Necas if just a winger, in don't think that works for the Jets then unfortunately.

I added late in rhe last response but Necas wants to play center and there is some consternation from the player that he isn’t a center

Yes but he can also play centre. He wants to be but Rod wants our Centres to be defensive so Rod doesn't think he will be good at it

Yes but he can also play centre depends on what Rod wants him to do if in a shutdown time or if we are with a lot of injuries he plays Centre

Got it. If he was a proven, full time center, it would be worth looking into, but as a winger there isn't much incentive for Winnipeg.

TT can be flipped at trade deadline for someone else or draft capital depending on your situation

He's not going to waive for Winnipeg in the first place though. I think the Jets would just prefer someone like Morrow.

Honestly for KC I'd be willing to give him up

Yeah, if the Jets were to move Connor, they would need to be filling holes in the lineup with young NHL'ers or soon to be NHL'ers.

That pick is at 30. I’d assume a lot of teams could offer a 1st better than that. And I’d want a player that could play now in the lineup at least in the middle 6
