Seattle probably would not move Wright, but its a strong package for both trades if the teams choose to move on from their top players (Keller and Marner)

I think its the only way a Marner trade makes sense, you'd have to get two solid players under his cap hit and a young piece. Marner gives Seattle a legit elite piece that theyre missing. I think Keller only gets moved if the rumors are true that hes not impressed with the arena situation.

Why do the Leafs do that 1st trade when they could prob. get more elsewhere?

I dont see it. Seattle may not have what you'd call an "elite" piece, but Beniers ain't too far off and McCann sure has worked out well. Marner is a great player, but to lose Oleksiak and to give up on Wright so soon just doesn't run parallel with what's made the Kraken successful thus far.
Couple all that with Marner's contract size and its expiry date, the deal is just not a fit for how Francis has and continues to structure this team. Offense is not Seattlde's problem. They just get theirs by committee!!
