Actually he made a nice distinction where he said the way he generates offence is not at all the way Caufield does. Caufield does not carry the puck, he finds the open space and sets up for a shot. Michkov carries the puck a lot and he, according to Arpon, passes much better than Caufield does.

How many games of Michkov's have you watched, as Arpon claims to have just watched the majority of the last year's worth of Michkov's games, and I believe him when he says he did.

have watched 3 whole games and a bunch of higlights, i dont scout much but since we have a top 5 picks i watched 7 players. Everyone carries the puck more on international ice surfaces, its normal and expected. drouin was doing it on a small rink though. i dont mean to be condescending, but im not.buying.this comp as more than click bait or bad analysis from Arpon.

The skill was there with drouin. If he was mentally tough and more committed he would be a beast. He had high end speed and skill he honestly should’ve been great.

You're saying Arpon's colouring the facts to tell a compelling story? He would not be the first reporter to take liberties like that, but I've never felt that was his style. I appreciate the dialog in any case, even if we're worlds apart!

I agree john i have reservations that he might be a russian floater like Kuznetsov or the Kostitsyns etc.... only wants to play offense... you dont win cups with guys like that... Take smith or leonard and just let it be someone else problem.

The fact that he's Russian has less to do with it than the fact that access & influence of his development is hard to do.
