Toronto would be better off just hanging onto Marner than replacing him with Debrincat.

This trade is awful for both teams. Ottawa doesn’t have the cap room to take on Brodie and Marner nor do they have a good enough prospect pool to give up 2 prospects and two picks.

The Leafs lose a valuable two way player who drives offence in favour of a sniper who needs someone to set him up.

Marner, Giroux, and Stutzle in your top six... what can possibly go wrong?

I can play that game too. Jump to idiotic conclusions. But I won't.

Is it an idiotic conclusion? A guy who has the 15th most goals last 5 years and in almost every trade proposal for him you say it's not worth it or a team doesn't need him (you know a goal scorer)
