PLD wants a trade; WPG will lose him next year anyway. They need a center to replace PLD. They're in dire need of wingers. A #31-32 pick to sweeten the pot.
MTL want the Quebec native, the feeling is mutual. Dvorak and Hoffman have been underperforming. Half a salary dump to help pay for PLD.

Hmmm no, while Montreal won't pay the big return jets wanted for PLD Hoffman is no value at all.

The first in 2023 of Floride and Dvorak could be something but the jets need more but they wanted active roster which mtl don't want to give. Hoffman have no value except as 50% retain for maybe a fifth round pick, Armia is cap dump so no go, Gallagher contract sink is valued so more useful as an member and leader of the team. Suzuki, Caufield and Dach is not moving that don't let's alot of choice. Don't think Kent want to move RHP so the only guys that could field the option is Anderson. But again would you really want to lost him for a player that you could probably get in one year in UFA....

Not a bad trade, and it would be great to see both Dvorak and Hoffman have rebound seasons on the 2nd line.

Yeah the Jets would rather sit PLD out rather than make this "deal"...
