The Wild are probably the last team in the league who would be interested in Deangelo.

One are they trading o'briens rights when they are getting a complimentary 2nd for not signing him? Also I doubt any of these teams accept.

Not sure how any of these deals would actually be accepted and we get a complimentary 2nd for Jay O’Brien not signing with us

Maybe not with half salary retained. he would be a good 3rd pairing and PP specialist. Their special teams really cooled down over the last half of the year and the last 4 games of their playoff series. at 2.5mm for one year, you could do way worse.

Sound reasoning, but still no.

Well, that's fine. I mean, if we were in a position to contend, we could simply buy him out with negligible ramifications to the cap. Hoping someone at the deadline who's PP has floundered but are still in contention will throw us a 3rd at least. The fact that Fletcher gave up a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th to negotiate with him is asinine. It's crazy to think, but he legitimately has no business being a GM. He negotiates terribly, his evaluations of player and value are garbage, and he is looking through a very narrow scope when it comes to trade construction. It's a miracle he's even lasted this long, not to mention him probably being in this position mostly due to his father.

You are preaching at the choir about Fletcher! He did ALL those moronic things with the Wild too! I will sincerely laugh out loud if another franchise is dumb enough to give him a 3rd chance!

I can't see a team giving him the reigns again, especially after the JVR debacle that was the nail in the coffin.

I could see however, a friend of his, giving him an advisor role or an AGM role, something to get him back into a FO, but no final say on anything.

Bill Guerin preaches character and Dean Evason preaches defense and character! Calen addison literally didn't play after trade deadline for these reasons. Tony D'Angelo would never be brought in

We've moved on already, I understand it. Hopefully another team needs what I said.

You would have to pay a team with picks to take hayes not the other way around. And Ottawa doesn't need centers.
