I guess PLD has officially made it clear that he does not intend to sign another contract with Winnipeg...... What are realistic trades for him.... Does the trade request hurt Winnipeg? Could be be another Taylor Hall to Boston trade (Hall for Bjork and a 2nd)

Not gonna lie PLD tore the WPG management a new one, they have absolutely no leverage in a PLD to MTL trade, they'd be lucky to get a 1st pick from MTL

I think the thing the screwed the Sabres so much with Hall was that not only did he have all the control in the world, but Hall was also playing the worst hockey of his career at the time. I think this situation definitely drops the price for PLD but not as much as what happened with Hall in Buffalo.

You'd still have to pay to dump Armia. The Jets aren't taking a dump for free with a low end offer.

The thing is that PLD informed the jets he wont sign an extension. Wants to help facilitate a trade. Never has been reported that he specifically requested a trade to MTL. Teams will pay a good price even to rent him for 1 year. I think the jets never really had any leverage in this situation. I really don’t think it puts them in any worse of a situation then they were already in.

I don't understand how something like that goes public, really screws a franchise over when news like that spreads around the league

The thing is that it's not new information. It's what everyone had assumed since last summer, that PLD is traded this summer. It really hasn't changed anything.

it scares me as well as a MTL fans... will be a good guy in the dressing room or a princess?
I hope and only hope he wanted to play in ONLY one place to do so... otherwise it is bad for is reputation IMO

Marek just said on TJMS that Dubois would be willing to play for NYR and Minnesota wild.

It must be nice being the Rangers. Players constantly falling over themselves to get there. Not me, I'd be heading for the sunshine teams!

MTL can buy out Armia for peanuts. Beck too promising. Give them Dvorak instead with 50% retained.
