Yeah I saw an article on the Score that had the Blues trading 10, 29, a 3rd and a prospect to SJ for the 4th so I thought MTL would be a better partner

The only way I can potentially see MTL making a trade like the one you are proposing is if Carlsson and Smith are off the board and the Habs think they can get a guy they really like at 10. I also get the sense that you threw in Gaudet only because he is from Quebec. It would likely take you a more highly ranked prospect than one who is not even in the Top 10 in the Blues prospect pool.

You read my mind on Gaudet. Bolduc is off limits. I mean this is assuming Carlsson goes 3 and Smith goes 4.

MTL trade is pretty good but everyone in the top5 has a way bigger ceilling than the guys at 10+. Maybe if you added a better prospect it would work out but for now dont think so

Yeah more so of just an idea. I think the Blues probably keep those two picks and trade one of the later ones for a defenseman.

With the right side set for this season---as you pointed out, including a trade of Schultz---and the likely loss of Soucy, it's more likely that Seattle would be willing to trade a 5th - 7th rounder to take Scandella off your hands than part with a 1st for Faulk. . . . and honestly, Scandella is not the first option they should explore on LD.

Yeah the only reason I did the 1st was the recoup a 1st after trading away 2. I think there could be a fit for a 2nd and a prospect perhaps. I think Faulk or Parayko will be gone this summer.

Bolduc is one of the more likely Blues prospects to get traded. They like Snuggerud more. Dean and Neighbors play a heavier game. Only so many spots…

I would argue Neighbours is less valuable than Bolduc. You can’t get a rid of a guy who was in a weird COVID draft class and is putting together some good numbers postdraft.

I didn’t say Neighbours is more valuable. Bolduc might return more and might be part of package to fetch 24-26 year old Armstrong has talked about numerous times

That’s a valid point. I think Bolduc could crack the lineup next year and him playing next year and for the foreseeable future could be good for the Blues.
