I’d be willing to do that Gibson trade if it’s inevitable that he’s moved.

I do wonder if Pittsburgh would trade Jarry’s signing rights at the draft instead of DeSmith, but I’m not sure how that whole thing works honestly.

Canucks aren’t rebuilding and this would leave Nils Aman as our 2C. Miller isn’t moving unless we get a legit replacement

Probably not unless they can immediately flip it for a legit 2C with control

I will take Jarry/DeSmith over Gibson/Rittich 11 times out of 10. Gibby has a .902 SV% over the last 4 seasons, and had a lower SV% and GSAx/60 than his backups 3 of those 4 seasons. I don't think he cuts it as a starter anymore.

I'm unimpressed by Miller's 5v5 stats. Nearly half of his points are on special teams, and only 31 of his points were at 5v5. For reference, Jason Zucker had 37 points at 5v5. His power play production is great and he does both special teams, but to me that was Miller's main selling point last season. I'm not a fan what he brings to the table for what he'd cost us, both in assets and his contract.

Gibson hasn't been good and the Miller contract is brutal, when like it's been said above he hasn't been great 5 v 5. Keep those 1sts. If we trade the 1st it should be for a top pairing D.
