JT Miller doesn’t fit their timeline. That contract will age poorly. He would also prevent them from locking in their young players to deals

The timeline really isn’t the issue per se but the last part is the real issue. In order for Van to move Miller and get something for him they would have to retain at least 30% of his contract. If the price point comes down to 5 mil AAV then the Jackets could be interested. But no way at an 8 mil AAV.

Like I said in the previous post, his play right now would be worth it but the last 3yrs of that deal just make it impossible to move without substantial retention. I mean his track record shows this guy produces points. Something we need. I would be interested at 5 mil but not anything higher.
