Usually and lately, trades are closer money wise so I would think to make it more acceptable, Caps would need to a bigger salary back. Someone like Roslovic at 4 million? I think a Kuzy trade could start with maybe that as a base.🙂

Caps easily decline this

bemstrom is 24 and had a career high 22 points in the NHL last year. He is a 4th liner. The other picks are not enough for the caps to move kuzy. With CBJ moving the LAK 1st, I don't see any trade that makes sense for the Caps and CBJ. Maybe Kuzy for Laine or some version of that???

Bemstrom is the best example of a player that got totally screwed by Covid that au can think of. He had a clause in his contract that if he was under 20 he had to either be on the Jackets roster or sent back to the SHL, so they were kind of stuck with him. And then the shut downs happened, so he ended up on the taxi squad and missed probably eight months of playing time. Then the team cratered and Torts clearly didn’t trust him. Then Larsen took over and couldn’t set a lineup to save his life, so Bemstrom couldn’t get any consistency. And then this past season was a tire fire. He isn’t a fourth liner although he’s quite good defensively and plays with some snarl—he’s got a wicked shot but not much of a playmaker. He was the best player in the AHL the first half of last season, but then all of the NHL team got hurt and he got called up. He needs a change of scenery and I think he’ll blossom. I doubt there would be any acquisition cost for him at all.

Babcock and Kuzy would be a match made in hell. I can’t believe we’re still seeing this rumor now that we know Babcock will be the coach.

You could try not doing trades w/the Hawks involved f they are that bad.
The point of publishing your team is to get feedback . Hawks are in a rebuild right now. Most fans are having trouble understanding their game plan. Most think the Hawks should give up picks for other teams cast offs.
