Seattle isn't going to make a trade for EK due to the contract. Giving up a first and a top prospect make it even less likely.

Sure maybe it's a bad idea for the Kraken to trade for Karlsson, but you generally have to give up good picks and prospects for the reigning Norris winner.

If anything this trade favors the Kraken in terms of value. But I understand that fact doesn't mean you would want to trade for him.

Really doubt Mike Grier will want to retain 2.5 million per (for next 4 years) unless the return really knocks his socks off. Honestly can't ennvision a deal involving Karlsson unless a third team is involved to aid in retention and/or after another season or 2 to make the dollars more palatable for all involved. But of course, then there's the concern that Karlsson's season for the ages will be an outlier.

Phenominal season by EK, but due to contract, player age, and team direction, don't see a fit for Seattle, IMO.
