Colton Parayko is not a cap dump. So we dump his cap hit and do what exactly? Sign a UFA to market value to play 25 minutes a night of the hardest usage in the league? That surely will work great.

CGY has scoring depth. We don't have top end scoring. I'm sure you could get some nice assets for Sprong, but not from the Flames. His arbitration case also gives me pause.

I know. General statement though. It’s been going around quite a bit. In this trade scenario he’s pretty much a dump though. Wennberg isn’t a bad player but his contract is pretty high for a 3C. I’m not sure if you take out the 2nd and Parayko the Blues take that for future considerations.

Wennberg expires after this year so his contract doesn't affect the Blues long-term. I think this type of move is pretty contingent on what the market values D-men at. STL has said they are moving one of Parayko, Scandella or Faulk. The unknown is what other GM's value each of them at. I wouldn't be suprised if Parayko fetched a 1st, but in my view I can't attach that level of draft capital to a contract that pays him 6,500,000 thru 2030.

Parayko return would revolve around a young D and 1st. You might think that’s steep but they’re teams that would love parayko. But if the blues do trade him it would be committing to a rebuild and I don’t think Blues owner would allow that.

Where did Armstrong say he was moving one of those 3? Blues simply cannot afford to simply move Parayko for a 1st. They aren’t at the stage of selling off to build for the future.
