for the sabres trade, I wouldn't include a first round pick in this trade nor would I include any of the picks. Mittelstadt is about a 10 to 15 point difference between DeBrincat. Plus the salary expectations are way different. I dont think the sabres can afford him long term. So it is a pass for me.

Buffalo isn't on DeBrincats desirable locations list, So it's not happening.

Buffalio pass, Debrincat is a luxury for us.

There's no need or logic from Sabres POV......Quoted for truth!
2022-'23 goals Alex 27, Victor 28.
Alex's QO for 2023-'24 $9,000,000 Victor's signed at $4,750,000 for 2023-24.
Neither will receive any Selke votes in the near future.
Over the past three years Alex has played 20:04 min gm with 3:50 min on the PP, Victor has played 15:33 min/gm with 2:22 on the PP.
Over that same period Alex scores 1.38 goals/ 60 and Victor 1.15 while both have about the same 2:1 ratio of EV/PP goals (65/34 v 41/18 Alex v Victor respectively).
With an AVV of $9,000,000 he would join Jeff Skinner as the highest paid Sabre.
Take out the first and Casey, Buffalo would still say no because of the difference in salary.
