Considering that Marner is signed for two years and Barzal is locked up into the next decade, the extra stuff is going the wrong way. And even then, I doubt they bite.

Barzal is a great player but I'd argue he hasn't really had a breakout season. He's only been over a point per game once and that was years ago. He's locked up for a long time but his contract isn't that team friendly given his production. I could see the islanders at least entertaining some variation of this trade.
