No where near a win win, no chance leafs give up Liljegren and Willy for Demko who has been nothing better then average and an undersized forward... exactly what we need

Demko at 5v5
20/21: .925 SV%, 6.67 GSAA, 7.89 GSAx
21/22: .933 SV% (3rd best), 26.42 GSAA (1st), 19.81 GSAx (3rd)
22/23: .920 SV%, 4.43 GSAA, 7.14 GSAx
22/23 after return from injury: .930 SV%, 7.72 GSAA, 8.22 GSAx

His overall numbers are lower because the Canucks have a terrible d corps and a historically bad PK. If he was on a team that could defend competently he’d be a Vezina candidate year in year out.

Garland is also a good 2nd line winger, especially at 5v5. The Leafs also get rid of the worst player/contract in the trade in Murray

Murray can be buried on LTIR if the leafs really want or could be dumped elsewhere for fairly cheap, Garland is not a good 2nd line winger on a contending team, and does not fit the leafs needs what soever.

Still, you don't get half as much as you want for a goalie. Demko hasn't proven much beyond having some flashes of crazy good play. He isn't the answer in TO and getting him while downgrading in a huge way up front is just not wise. Keep Demko.

And you guys have been calling Garland a top 6 winger who hasn't been too 6 full time on the canucks. On a deep team he's a bottom 6 winger. Garland was a terrible investment

Garland struggled the first half of the year but played really well once Tocchet took over. Averaged 2.69 P/60 and 2.12 5v5 P/60 after he took over. And in 2021/22 he was 29th in 5v5 points, above players such as Conner, Rantanen, Forsberg, Nylander, B Tkachuk, Zibanejad, Debrincat, and Tavares. He had a higher 5v5 P/60 than McDavid, Draisaitl, Pastrnak, Ehlers, J Hughes, Barkov, Panarin, Ovechkin, and Guentzel
