Debrincat can have Detroit as his number 1 destination, but so what??

So what, it means that hometown Detroit is where he wants to play, Either via trade or as a UFA next summer. We can gladly wait until next July 1st 2024 to sign him.

Trotz is looking to change that. Wants to draft actual top end talent and get younger and faster.
There's a reason I don't want Cat on this team lol. You're essentially paying 8-9m for "He's scored 40 before!".

      I hope he does.

I wouldn't be surprised if DeBrincat scored 40G but only had 23 assists, although I think the usual is 30Gs for top NSH goal scorer. Hertl+Karlsson (with retention) would have been nice candidates to continue the trend lol.

C'mon. You said the same thing when Bo Horvat was on the trade block…Now he's signed long term with NY. If a player from the Wings was available for a trade, I am sure you would want maximum value back and don't care where the player goes?

I never said that Bo Horvat to Detroit was certain, Just that Yzerman had some interest in him. It was reported from get go that Detroit wasn't a serious player for Horvat. because we definitely could've beaten that offer.

If your trading Debrincat to Nashville I agree with this thread you've gotta get at least 2 of

      2023 first rounders
      Evangelista
      Tomasino
      Kemmel
      L'Hereux

Evangelista/Tomasino and Edmonton 1st is fair. Use the Edmonton 1st to draft Bonk. He wants to be a Senator and he’s in that range

I'd agree but seems like most guys think this is a little steep in the thread. If Trotz comes back and says your only gunna he 1 current NHL piece either Tomasino or Evangelista you obviously take Evangelista I think you've got that one down!

L'Heureux thought man that kids got some tenacity could be a nice future addition like you were mentioning for the middle 6.

Bonk would be an all around amazing story to nab him and bring him into the fold

Problem is L’Heureux is a few years away. Sens want someone ready now to plug into the lineup

Your absolutely right I was just saying if Trotz says your only getting one NHL ready guy rn your taking Luke

So Evangelista + EDM first + L'Heureux if it's possible could be a nice fall back option perhaps? You save some money moving Debrincat which could allow you to possibly bring in a guy like Barbashev? Idk what you think of that but he's been an absolute beast imo and could really improve the sens as well 17 pts in the playoffs so far +13 and something like 64 hits and can play centre or wing so another versatile and valuable guy to possibly bring into the mix?
