AZ pass, McBain i a 23yo middle 6 C and power forward and bordie is (Still very good player) 33yo on last year of deal. There is no reason to do this, also the first maybe only 10 - 15 spots lower than the 2nd

Hence the condition on the second. It would make no sense otherwise. McBain would suck to lose, but ARI would be in a good spot in the bottom of the 1st to find a more suitable piece to replace him in a couple of years.

I based the trade on ARI needs combined with the fact no one knows who is on his no trade list. To pretend to know who is or isn't on his NT list is arrogant. He's got a year left and is still an effective everyday d man. He also would be better suited on the 3rd pairing on a contending team. Value wise, the trade makes sense to me.

"To be pretend to know who is or isn't on his NT is arrogant". Really? You just signed 8 UFAs and RFAs to $$$ and term to the Leafs, when those players have options with 31 other teams. Isn't that arrogant?
Kinda logically that Brodie would not waive to a non playoff team which has the worse travel schedule in the league.

not saying the trade isnt of equal value, it just doesnt make sense for AZ to dump what is already here and that is a key piece moving forward. AZ has too many picks now so couple more aren't needed.

I'm not sure how that's arrogant. All I assumed is free agents will want to sign with NHL teams. You are implying you have some insight into who is on his NT list. Either way I'm done arguing with you. Enjoy trolling peoples ACGM's smile
