Calgary says no. Lindholm is by far the best player in this proposal. The Flames are fine on defense and would have no interest at all in Girard. In fact the Flames are probably going to trade Hanifin to free up cap space to bring in a goal scoring forward and Hanifin is better than Girard. Calgary really likes Zadorov too and needs his physicality.

Lindholm >>> Newhook
Hanifin >> Girard

Boqvist is probably more valuable than Girard and Newhook too

Calgary needs more coming back for this. The players are fine, but Colorado is going to need to throw in some picks to Calgary to make that happen.

Calgary has no need or want for an "offensive" defenseman. The Flames have a surplus of top 4 defensemen who are all better and/or cheaper than Girard. They don't need a bottom 6 center either especially not another left shot they have plenty of those too.
