Replace Rosen with a 24 2nd and the trade makes sense...

I think most Sabres fans are going to feel that this is pricey for Pesce, but there will be a lot of interest if he is actually on the move, and I’m willing to overpay for the perfect long term partner for Power. Lock him up at 7x7 and you don’t have to worry about your top four for close to the next decade.
Rosen is super expendable to me with so many high upside offensive guys like Kulich, Savoie, Ostlund, Neuchev, Poltapov, Kisakov, Nadeau, Neuchev, etc. in the pipeline. Also would still have your 2024 first to use on a forward if you want to.

I can tell you now, the canes are not going to accept any deal for Pesce that doesn't make them better right now. The canes cup window is now, and I believe that they would keep Pesce for this season if only as a "rental". That being said, we'd definitely move him, but it may be part of a 3 team deal that incorporates us moving Pesce and maybe other pieces to get us the top tier scorer the canes desperately need.
I guess it all depends upon what Waddell would accept and other teams would offer.
This would never happen
BUUUUUUTTTT Jeff Skinner has become an excellent play maker and two way player.
Buffalo could retain and there may be a deal to be struck.
Another option would be Victor Olofsson.
Just because Sabre fans think he will be traded for cheap, does not make it a fact.
Two years ago all Sabre fans thought they would need to pay to move Ristolainen, he returned more than Reinhart!
He has a quick release and an accurate shot aiming for the corners and not the goalies crest.
He has finally shed that PP specialist label as only 4 of his 28 goals were on the PP last year.
ONLY 17 NHL forwards scored faster than his 1.6 goals/60 or had more EV goals and only 55 forwards scored more than his 28 goals.
Those are not AWFUL stats, they are AWESOME, elite status, top line production.
There may be a trade in the making that would include one of the two with Olofsson as a front runner.
