Why would Boston ever consider that?

Im going based on the previous few BOS/NJD ACGMs.

They would consider it for...cap space! Similar to how Vegas traded their Vezine-winning goalie for a whole bunch of nothing very recently

A Bruins fan posted an Ullmark trade earlier today that was Smith and a 2nd. This is only marginally less.

They will get better offers elsewhere... were most likely gonna be sticking with VV & PyraSchmid

- everyone, about Fleury.

There are lots of goalies out there this offseason.

Hellebuyck, Hart, Hill, Brossoit, Ullmark/Swayman, Gibson, Blackwood, Quick, Jarry, Andersson, Raanta, Nedjelkovic, Korpisalo, Stolarz, Murray, Vejlemlka

I understand that its a buyers market for a goalie but Akira has def earned the right to increase his sample size. Wouldnt be opposed to trading VV based on his playoff performance; we need a strong goalie overall not one who performs decent in the regular season.

Akira is waivers eligible lol I won't pass on someone like Ullmark for cheap jsut because Akria showed out big in a small sample.

You will be disappointed with what happens this offseason regarding our netminders then.

Uh, no, I won't. I don't mind running VV/Schmid next year. I'm saying if you can add /certainty/ for cheap, you shouldn't pass that up.

Fleury was also 36 and making $7 mill at the time. You get a younger goalie for another year on a better contract in this scenario. It's an ok comparison, but the Bruins should get more than that if he's traded

yea honestly in my head i had Fluery going for a 2nd, forgot they legit gave him away

Regardless I think the Bruins look for a better package than that, they have other options to free up cap

right, so its just a question of "how much would you trade for more stability at the goaltending position"

I would trade a 2nd lol your milage may vary, though, and that's fine

I mean we traded for Vitek using a 2nd and 3d rounder and he wasnt even a proven talent, I understand Boston is trying to offload his contract but this screams 3 way trade where a team that isnt competitive retains salary.

Either way we have a lot to be excited about considering what mgmt has done in the past 24 hours let alone 5 years
