OEL - Bruins Edition

Created by: GMBL
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 16, 2023
Published: Jun. 16, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The main goal of the ACGM is to predict possible OEL's FA destination. Ignore all trades, I just traded for some players who I think would be interesting adds for the Bruins.

Being one of the few teams with cap space to burn I don't believe the Hawks utilize it for a 3rd round pick.

I didn't look to see who they have on their left side, but a 3rd is a good deal to help them get to the cap floor instead of overpaying UFAs. Out of all the trades, that's probably the most likely.

So how does Calgary afford that trade?

Remember when a bunch of the B’s fans on here were dying to trade for him 2 years ago? 😬

They are also probably the same ones that complain about every move they do make lol.

They don't or they make moves but like the Vegas trade, it isn't meant to be realistic in terms of trade destinations or personnel. Basically, just see Hanifin as a future Bruin, guessing Hall is out and maybe he goes to CGY, Ullmark probably gets traded not necessarily to Vegas. Roy is just a guy I think would make a good Bruin but he's probably not available. The Swayman contract is probably too low as well. Bertuzzi's might be as well but I could see that happening, but I signed him to 6MX6 at first, then 5.5Mx8, then that just to give the extra cap space.

The Bruins are in a cap mess that I'm not going to try to solve lol, this ACGM is just about OEL really.

Wasn't really on capfriendly forums 2-years ago, I would check it randomly at times but don't remember that scenario in particular. Only thing I remember is seeing a lot of bad takes in general.

Will be interesting to see what the Bruins do this year, I feel like they won't be able to do a whole lot in terms of improving the team. I think OEL could help them with their cap situation but at the same time they got a ton of LD, maybe they can play a few of them up front squinty smile. If Bergeron and Krecji return on 1M deals though that should help a lot.

Hawks have a bunch of kids on D in the AHL waiting for a chance, Reilly holds them back. Hawks would prefer to bring in forwards to get to the cap floor. If it doesn’t happen in trades, then overpaying is what they will have to do. Especially since they want to keep the term low.

I get it, a free draft pick is never a bad thing but Tinordi and Caleb Jones are already on the NHL roster and the Hawks also have Phillips and Vlasic who are NHL ready and guys like Roos and Galvas who are both really close as well. Tinordi is a 7th d-man and Jones might end up not getting re-upped so in that case there might be a spot on the left side. With a veteran right side, they may roll with three youngsters on the left subbing in Tinordi.
