If Petey decides to pull a Tkachuk deal this season, I can see this happening, especially if Kopitar retires next season where they would need to fill the center role

That’s no where close to enough for Pettersson. It would take byfield, clarke, a 1st and more considering he’d be going in the division

Ignoring the fact that the Kings care not for Pettersson.... Vilardi is an RFA who hasn't been healthy or consistent enough to play a whole season. he isn't getting more than $4mil.

The package is already massive and I think LA passes. They aren't going to want to move Clarke or Byfield, let alone both within the division. They are also not expendable, Clarke is the future 1RD and Byfield would be the future 2C in this scenario.

Clarke and byfield have the potential to become that, but neither is close to that right now and Petey is arguably a top 5 C in the league. You have to give to get and because they’re both guys with potential that haven’t proven anything yet Vancouver would need both plus more to move Petey.

Let's see . . . five seasons of Jack Eichel got a first, a second, Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs. And you and some of your delusional Canuck friends think one season of Elias Pettersson, who isn't even the third best center in this division let alone fifth best in this conference, is worth a first, a second, Alex Iafallo and Gabe Vilardi, plus Brandt Clarke and #1 RhD Matt Roy?!?!?

We'll just assume overconsumption of recreational substances.

This is unbelievably horrible for LA. Pettersson is great but nowhere near that package. That's a Lindros style trade for not a Lindros kind of player

No, because no one else is going to be offering their two top prospects that both play a prime position. In the scenario Pettersen is asking out, and you're trying to say Vilardi (a promising young player)+Clarke (a top RD prospect)+ a 1st + a 2nd + two good roster players isn't enough, you want Byfield on top as if Pettersen is the best player in the League.
