<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I would have thought that the swap of Arviddsen for a young player from your system would free up the necessary cap. Like I said, I’m just looking at team depth and team needs and see a pretty good fit between the two teams. Arvidssen is a nice player and I’d view him as a short term Bruin. He’s a nice one year flyer, but getting a second solid center prospect in the system would be the goal</div></div>
LA can't afford Ullmark's cap even with Arvidsson gone. The Kings made their bed and are probably stuck with what they have. Now with Vilardi & Kupari gone and Turcotte still a liability with injuries. I don't feel like Pinelli is available as he is the next big time center coming up.

<a href="/users/Celtics21" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Celtics21</a> before the PLD trade I could have gotten behind a deal like this but now LA can't afford a big money goalie. It's minimum league average contracts for the Kings here on out.

Byfield is the Kings #1LW right now. Nothing of that is valuable to the Kings. Jones would be fighting for 7th Dman, Carter is useless and I wouldn't want him back without multiple 1st attached, and Sykora is lucky to be a 6-10 prospect in LA. The 1st is the only good thing but it's a late pick and nothing good to move Byfield for.

Only thing of interest for LA is Tkachuk, Lundell or Knight. Other than that, nothing else works for LA.

I know it's not but it could be if a team is desperate for a youngish cheap RHD. Plus that Calgary 1st in 2025 could be a top 10 pick the way they are going

This might be the only time we disagree but I'd take that deal with the 2023 2nd and 2025 1st.

DNVR Keeping the D
LA wouldn't give up Vilardi alone for that terrible offer. LA could just sign Nedeljkovic to that deal and keep Vilardi and Durzi. Not trading Durzi for a 33yr old goalie that's a UFA next year, a nothing winger that LA doesn't have a spot for. The 1st is nice but doubt LA can get one in a trade for Durzi.

Lets see it through
With the Gavrikov signing LA doesn't need a LHD especially a small expensive one. LA has no cap space for $5m 3rd pairing Dman. Durzi for Girard might be a fair swap as they have similar playing style and points but no way is LA adding Vilardi. Horrible trade for LA.

LA isn't trading Roy and it definitely won't be for a RHD as they are have way too many. You could probably get Durzi but not Roy.
What is the value for Pinto+Boucher? Or Boucher alone?

Wouldn't trade Vilardi alone for Ullmark. LA & Boston are two teams in cap trouble and probably aren't going to be good partners. Maybe and Iafallo for Ullmark deal be not Vilardi that they are building around.

Wrong! Kings decline. They can't take on an extra $4m. They barley have money to resign their own RFAs and zero money for a backup goalie. They need to get rid of cap to get a goalie.

Agressive Retool
I think Calgary can get way more for Hanifin but just not for LA. But if you're looking at Arvidsson than a deal for Zadorov and Vladar would work better for LA. It gives Calgary better opportunity to sign Hanifin long-term or trade him for a higher value return

LAK Offseason
Why? The Kings don't need Tuch at that price. No way they move Danault as he is the Kings shutdown guy for McDavid. The Kings can't afford PLD this season and they would want more than 2 years. These are awful deals for LA and they pass quickly.

Jets
Horrible trade for LA. They can't afford either guy from Winnipeg without major cap going the other way. Anderson is untouchable, Byfield and Vilardi shouldn't be moved at all. Winnipeg and LA don't make good trading partners. LA shouldn't be giving up anything of max value for 2 guys not wanting in Winnipeg. No leverage for Winnipeg in this situation

LA declines. They don't have the cap space to take on PLD without major moves. Also they shouldn't try high value assets for a player that is forcing his way off a 2nd team.

Way too high praise. He could be a Karlsson if he can keep his offensive game up. If he can play half decent defense the kid is going to be dangerous.

Decisions
For the millionth time; the Kings can't afford PLD without Iafallo and Arvidsson going the other way (whether that is both to Winnipeg or in a 3-way trade with one guy going somewhere else). The Kings need a goalie more than PLD even though he'd be a good fit in LAs new core. No LA doesn't need a 30yr old Helle to be signed long term. Whoever signs Helle to a big cap hit for multiple years is going to be in for a world of hurt in a few short years.

LAs RHD depth is crazy good. Doughty is a King for life so Durzi isn't taking him out of the lineup. Roy is the Kings stay at home stud on defense that Durz can't replace. Clarke is the future of the defense on the right side. Spence is in the mold of Durzi but younger, cheaper and better in the all around game. Durzi is good enough to have value for a good trade and opens a spot for Clarke.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Nice post. Man the cap is tight. I wonder if Moore and Gavrikov should have been signed for so much $$$$. Who would offer more? LWer and LHD are the easiest positions to find.</div></div>
Gavrikov deal isn't bad because he's under $6m. It works for both team and player. The Moore contract is the big issue. He is a max $2.5m player. He got the opposite of a hometown discount. Just like Petersen he got paid for 1 good year of play. If they didn't resign Moore already to his deal than they probably can afford PLD and/or Helle without much issue.

I'd take a 2025 first for Durzi. Would suck if it was Detroit's because they'll be a good team at that time. But a team like Pittsburgh or Washington then heck yeah because they could be losing Crosby or Ovie and that pick could be a Top10 selection.
