that is fair, was thinking outside of the box. Laughton has links to Toronto, and I wanted to make a change and see what others thought about it.

Flyers said he was fully healed last season, but with only 20 or so games left, I believe Tortorella didn't play him because they didn't want him injured again. Think it would be fair to let him go to get Savoie, especially in a rebuild phase. I believe BUFF wins the trade if Couturier plays normally, kind of a risk-reward kind of trade.

That's fair, was trying to stockpile firsts for the 2023 year. They probably would need to include more.

Not sure, definitely a first rounder in 2023, but Torontos 2023 first rounder isn't that high valued since its a later pick. I personally don't want any rookies from Toronto. Robertson would be the only acception, but the problem I have with him is his injury history. Flyers have said they were interested in trading for Robertson in years past, but they said that his injuries is too much of a risk for them to trade for him now.

You've shown the reason Laughton is such a difficult trade to get a good return for the players. You signed Domi for 3m (Laughton's salary). Like Laughton but lots of 3m third liners are available for free.

I can't see anyone giving more than that for Hayes. He still has some value but that's declined with Tortorella's treatment of him and the rumours that he doesn't want him there.

Only reason to sign domi was to flip him at the deadline with chicago did last year. Everyone in this thread is calling Laughton a "third liner". There were proven reports that the Flyers have declined late 2023 first round picks in a trade for Laughton. There must be something missing if everyone thinks he isn't good, and the reports are saying that late first rounder was declined.

I meant more assets from Philly to get the 2023 first from Colorado, not the other way around lol.

LOL! Ok, yeah could be read either way, can see that now. Not sure what else the Flyers have in the system that would interest the Avs.

You may right, but you certainly are incorrect when there are "proven reports". Only way a report is true one a trade, if the two GMs involved in such a trade confirm the report. And current GMs never tell about deals that weren't made. Don't put much credence what so called reporters (story tellers) write or say.

Just going off of many writers confirm. Believe Briere said something about it as well, but I might be wrong. Thats is why I was saying proven. If the front office didn't say it you're absolutely right.

Why of course Briere will say something to try to boast the value of his player....doesn't make it factual. TWO front offices would have to confirm an offer. And writers/reporters/analysts....are entertainers they need ratings or whatever to keep to their job. What they say may or may not have any basis in fact.

Buffalo's Center depth is probably the strongest position for them. You got Thompson and Cozens locked up long term and young guys like Kulich, Ostland, Krebs. Middlestadt, and Savoie.

Adding Couturier, with his age and recent injury is probably the last thing they should be doing.

atm Topi Niemela, RD is our best prospect. I agree about Robertson..and hoping for a rebound year (and hoping he can het closer to his brothers production obviously)
