Really giving up a 3rd to move up from 31 to 28 unless there is someone they absolutely thought was a 10-15 pick it doesn't make sense.

Habs laugh and hang up the phone. They could use pick 67 to get HRABAL.

That's exactly the kind of thing I was referring to.

a). Montgomery (the B´s) emphasized that Carlo was part of their D-core
b). The B´s can buy Reilly out for almost nothing
c). Carlo is worth a lot more

All in all I don´t think he´s for sale and I´m pretty sure the B´s would pass if you added a first - he´s too important for them!

At 28 Leafs draft Michkov

Is reading comprehension really that difficult for you? If and only if there is a player Montreal really wants that slipped to 28 they do it (like michkov) or any other player they're extremely high on . Otherwise it's utterly moronic for them. What is so complicated you don't understand.

Why? Seems like a reasonable deal to me.

Move up 15 spots in a deep draft to drop roughly 15 spots in next years draft.

Fully expect the Sabres to make the playoffs next year. And you lose a super valuable trade chip at the deadline

I don't know, I personally value a 13OA in a deep draft higher than a future 1st round pick that could potentially land someone at the trade deadline. Could also use BUF's 2024 second as a trade chip, not every deal has to include a 1st.

No, but I see the difference being more than 15 spots next year. Agreed that the 13th in this deep draft is excellent, but for a team in win now mode I think that first round pick next year holds more value today as a trade piece
