It strikes me as a trade they would maybe do, but big maybe. The reason I give it a chance is because I'm assuming Rutherford loves Guentzel, and he's not afraid to trade away 1sts.

Rust at 3.5 sounds good. I think over the next 5 years is what will scare the leafs away. I don’t think they’ll want to commit to that contract. It’s low enough but they’re gonna be tight with the cap for the next while

Vancouver might do that deal. Probably stupid in the long term for them to do that deal, but that is usually how Vancouver operates. I wouldn't trade the 14th overall for Rossi. He's only played center as far as I know so he would be the 3C and he has 1 assist in 21 NHL games so he's a huge question mark. Maybe switch the 2023 1st and the 2024 1st in the deals as I think Hanifin would require more.
